When we feel understood and supported, daily challenges become more manageable. Meaningful friendships cultivate resilience, reinforce self-worth, and contribute to a lasting sense of belonging.

Yet not every connection delivers these benefits. Some relationships gradually shift from supportive to draining. Instead of feeling uplifted after spending time together, you may notice fatigue, tension, or self-doubt. You might hesitate to speak openly, minimize your needs to avoid disagreement, or constantly adjust your behavior to maintain peace. Over time, these patterns can affect confidence and emotional balance. Recognizing these signs early is the first step in protecting your well-being.
