From the outside, the structure appears modest and slightly unconventional, yet stepping inside reveals a thoughtfully designed space that feels both bright and inviting. Designed by Mizuishi Architects Atelier, the house is built on a narrow triangular plot positioned between a river and a road. Instead of seeing the unusual shape as a limitation, the architects used it as inspiration to create a functional and efficient layout. Every angle and corner of the home has been carefully considered, allowing the structure to make the most of its unique footprint.
Although the house measures only about 594 square feet, the interior is organized across two levels to maximize usability. The lower floor is designed as a calm and private bedroom, offering a quiet space for rest. Upstairs, the home opens into a combined kitchen and living area filled with natural light. Large windows and an open-plan layout help create a sense of airiness, making the space feel larger than its actual size.
A charming mezzanine level adds even more versatility to the design. Reached by a ladder, it provides a cozy area that can be used for relaxation or play. The predominantly white interior reflects light and enhances the feeling of openness throughout the home.
