That’s why even a minor, unexpected change—a new mark, an unusual smell, or a small patch on the wall—can suddenly catch our attention and make us pause to take a closer look.
One morning, while walking through a hallway, I noticed a small pinkish spot on the wall that hadn’t been there before.
